Job Description

Software Solution Architect - Tech Led Huge B2C Company - High Transactional web/mobile/tablet - £90k

Im searching for hands-on technology agnostic solutions architects that enjoy technical challenges and have the ability to work in a high transactional business.

My client are a household name. They offer a consumer service to millions and are growing and expanding their team in London. They have just moved into one of the capitals most eagerly awaited tech buildings where you will be working with an extremely talented team and have the chance to make a real difference to products that reach a wide and varied audience.

You will need to be a hands-on architect - probably from a coding background - who can work across multiple teams. My client are moving to a microservices architecture and are using a tech stack that consists of .Net, Node.JS, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, MongoDB

As a solutions architect you will need to be hands-on technically so that you can sell proof of concepts to the stakeholders. Typical stakeholders are IT Directors, Data Director etc.

A typical week would be 2 days working with teams looking at data that is coming in via API's and how that data is pushed out to the "data lakes" and then feeding that into the target architecture. 2 days on governance - building the right things that could help accelerate speed or improve security or anything else that may give them a competitive edge. 1 day on Creating a backlog of ideas and working through them.

To be happy in this role you will want to work in teams where collaboration is almost always the solution. Experience working with high volume transactional systems and hands on prototyping experience are highly desirable. Acting as a trusted advisor to the business and technical colleagues will need to be second nature for you to get the best out of this role. Most importantly you will need to be forward thinking, innovative and pragmatic with a healthy curiosity for all things technical.

My client put technical excellence at the forefront of the applications they build and run. You will be shaping and overseeing delivery of Technology Roadmaps across the entire estate alongside participating in the continuous improvement process. You will be creating Proof of Concept applications (using whatever tools best suit the job) and demonstrating their respective merits to gain support for your designs from your peers and colleagues.
