Software Developer - PHP

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a global media company for an experienced Software Developer with a background in PHP and web services. My client is looking for a versatile developer that has a broad skill set and a "can do" attitude.

The company is planning a complete overhaul of their websites to create a market leading, cutting edge web design and to bring all IT in-house and migrate to a cloud-based platform.

Role Summary
As a Developer, reporting into the Technical Lead, you and your colleagues will be responsible for delivery. You will be a truly hands-on developer ultimately responsible for the development of reusable, cutting edge applications.

In this role, you will need to take a holistic view of the technology landscape, with a desire to actively use new technologies and adhere to best practices in order to support your colleagues. An external perspective is also desirable to understand future opportunities and direction for Technology, which should draw on the desire to build the best products using the best technology in order to achieve success.

Skill Requirements:

Experienced in developing applications, solutions and best practices in PHP
Understanding of full software delivery cycle and project methodologies including both waterfall and agile
Experience in full development life cycle; design, coding, test, build, QA, deployment and maintenance
Experience in Lean and Agile environments and understanding of principles behind methodologies such as: BDD and TDD
Analytical thinker with great problem-solving skills; focussed on "getting things done"
Ability to thrive in an environment that is characterized by significant diversity and constant change
