IT Network & Security Engineer - Permanent IMMEDIATE START
** WAN/LAN / Next Generation Firewall e.g. Cisco FTD) including NAT, IDS/IPS / Win Server 2008r2 / Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
My client, a market leader in their sector, urgently require an experienced IT Network & Security Engineer to join them on an initial 2-month contract at their offices in Ewell, Surrey
IT Network & Security Engineer

Providing 3rd line support to a fast paced and technically challenging environment. The Network & Security Engineer will be an integral member of the core IT Infrastructure team and will have the opportunity to maintain and expand on a number of systems.
Reporting to the IT Manager.
Key interaction with 1st/2nd level support.
Interaction with other infrastructure support engineers, suppliers and internal employees.

Configure and install network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN)
Liaise with the senior infrastructure engineers for supporting, installation of new hardware.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the company infrastructure and security across all aspects of the IT Network, Firewall, Databases and System Infrastructure, internal systems, critical servers, software, website, services, monitoring and capacity planning.
Provide support to assigned IT infrastructure projects and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver large projects.
Responsible for the design, engineering, operation and security of the network infrastructure.
Conduct regular security audits on the company network infrastructure and environments, identify threats/risks & to implement mitigation actions including patches & hotfixes.
Prepare weekly network infrastructure health check status reports to management
Responsible for the maintenance and management of the company network diagrams
Assist the IT Manager in the enforcement and regular monitoring of the Information security policies, procedures and disaster recovery
By agreement with the CIO or the IT Manager, work outside of standard office hours to minimise adverse business impact when instigating IT changes or performing planned activities or to support the business/services in emergency situations.
work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

Proven IT Infrastructure, Network Support experience: previous experience of 3-5 years of 2nd line support or a good exposure to 3rd line infrastructure & network support
Troubleshoot and assist in the remediation of WAN/LAN issues and coordinate the installation of new LAN infrastructure
Vigilant to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities in IT Security and mitigate the issues proactively.
Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting
Next Generation Firewall experience (e.g. Cisco FTD) including NAT, IDS/IPS and inspection policies (DNS, file analysis etc)
Ability to communicate infrastructure issues related to websites, internal systems, application and network to Senior Engineers & Vendors
Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Group Policies, Data Centre Management, Win Server 2008r2 and above.
Knowledge of industry leading cloud technologies (either Azure, AWS or Google Cloud etc) is expected
Experience working with IT Projects that may have included network, infrastructure and office support projects.
Candidate should have up to date certifications around network, infrastructure or security
