Job Description

The role of AI Engineer will join our team of technologists responsible for incubating new and novel software/data initiatives that drive growth and explore new markets for the company. We are looking for an experienced AI specialist to join the team, using data science, machine learning and AI technologies to help us improve various business outcomes and drive innovation.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in software development, programming, data science and data engineering
  • Good track record of current hands-on experience in AI related technologies and R&D
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic publishing and/or adjacent market segments, key competitors, and related technology practices / trends is strongly preferred but not required

Skills and Behaviours Required

  • Must love commercial software development and have a track record of delivering value in new and novel areas of technology. We are targeting solutions to drive revenue and are not looking to advance technology for just technology's sake
  • Experience in a variety of machine learning algorithms and techniques. Of relevance to immediate projects would be Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Probabilistic Machine Learning
  • Programming experience using Python/R/Java/Scala
  • Experience with one or more AI Platforms such as Google AI, Microsoft Azure ML or TensorFlow
  • Experience in data science/engineering and related technologies such as SQL, data storage and ETL
  • Experience in exploratory data analysis looking for correlations and outliers
  • Fluent written and spoken business English is required
  • Demonstrate and foster critical thinking and problem solving in a team environment
  • Demonstrate a curiosity for new technologies and tools
