Job Description

Product Development Manager required for exciting new role to help a growing business establish some new products that will really benefit them and their customers.

Role Profile

The role is transformational in nature working with senior managers and directors to transform ideas and strategies into real product innovation. The candidate will work closely with the product owners to develop best in class products supported by in-house bespoke systems.

This role will focus on the products that are the fundamental cornerstone to the organisation that enable us to differentiate from its competitors as it strives to be twice as good and three times more productive than its nearest rival.

This high-profile position collaborates with the directors and senior managers on the scope and product direction for the company and creates the specific detail required to bring them to life. This role then works closely with the delivery manager to development quality solutions and is ultimately responsible for realising the benefits back into the business.

In addition, the role helps further bind business and technology through the building of collaborative relationships and continuous product improvement programmes across the organisation.

Key Delivery Responsibilities

Function/Product Roadmap Management
Collaborate with product owners, directors and department heads and manage the roadmap of agreed priority features
Creating functional specifications
Take the outcomes of workshops and business engagements and turn them into specification of the right level of detail to develop from with minimal support
Produce High Level Software/Application Designs
Engage with technical resources and include high level details in specifications to support the design (data, interfaces, web services)
Quality Assurance Management
Ensure the features developed meets the functional and quality requirements to realise the benefits
Benefits Realisation Management
Capture and report the benefits realised from the implementation of approved product features
Supplier Management
Manage the supplier relationship and escalate appropriately
