Head of Insights

Analytics / Research / Insights / Leadership / Google Analytics

Our client a world leading Media company in digital and print products is looking for an experienced Analytics professional to build and lead their Insights Team. The right candidate will understand and have experience of audience and product Analytics. You will understand the benefits of research and Analytics to deliver actionable insights into the business and its partners.

You will be instrumental in building an Insights team delivering core business reporting and recommendations across the organisations strategic and tactical activities; contributing to everything from market planning, product development and day-to-day content strategies.


  • Take ownership of reporting, analysis and tracking processes
  • Working with technical teams to ensure high quality analytics implementations
  • Build a suite of reporting dashboards that reflect our business objectives
  • Respond to all Analytic requests


  • Utilise internal resources and external agencies to deliver research into the industry and consumer trends
  • Conduct regular tracking studies


  • Combine analytics and research to build actionable insight for the business
  • Create regular reporting
  • Develop insights with business customers

Leadership & Training

  • Work with senior stakeholders to define KPIs that align to evolving business goals
  • Bring together all business units (editorial, product, sales technical, marketing, etc) to drive the best use of insight.

Experience and Skills

  • Degree educated, ideally in a numerical or science discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in web analytics.
  • High level of attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Exhibit a high level of expertise in understanding data and interpreting it in real-life business situations.
  • Proven experience in using Google Analytics Premium or similar (Omniture, ComScore Digital Analytix, etc).
  • Experience leading Market Research teams & agencies with knowledge of research methods, utilisation and provision
